So why should I choose Simon Sims Photography to take my photographs?

My aim is to provide as relaxed, fun and flexible service as possible. Taking all the stress out of the whole process makes for better photographs and happier customers. From the paperwork, how I take your photographs on the day, right through to providing your final gallery and artwork has all been designed to be as easy and as stress free as possible. Just make sure you turn up on the day and I will take care of the rest!

So how does it all work if I book a photoshoot with you?

As a guideline for the whole process from enquiry to final photos, please see the below bullet points

  1. Contact me via the website contact page with basic shoot details, date etc.

  2. I will contact you to discuss what you require from the shoot in more detail and schedule a date and location for the shoot.

  3. You will be invited to sign a contract digitally online, prior to the photoshoot, once all details have been finalised.

  4. Your photoshoot will take place on agreed date and time.

  5. You will be invited via email to your personal online gallery with a sneak peak photo within a few days after your photoshoot.

  6. I will contact you via email once your full gallery of professionally edited photographs from your photoshoot are ready for viewing, either during an in person reveal or remotely via video call, whichever method you prefer. This is usually within 7 days of the photoshoot date.

  7. After viewing your full gallery of photographs, you can decide which one of our packages you would like to purchase i.e how many photographs you wish to purchase etc.

  8. Once payment is received in full, your chosen package will be made available for high resolution download and sharing via social media from within your personal online viewing gallery. Payments are accepted either via bank transfer, PayPal or cash.

  9. An invoice will be sent to you via email.

  10. A Full selection of professional wall art and photograph albums will be available from your online viewing gallery at an extra cost as required. A range of high quality canvas wall art can also be arranged if required.

  11. You will be invited to leave a short review to ensure that I have met your expectations throughout the whole process from booking through to completion.

  12. Enjoy your photographs for years to come!

Can I upgrade my package after the shoot ?

Absolutely, you are in full control of which package you wish to purchase and this can be discussed during/following your viewing if required. You can choose any package shown on our pricing page and add optional extras if required.

What happens if the photoshoot date needs to be rescheduled for any reason?

Please contact me as soon possible should you need to reschedule due to any unforeseen circumstances and I can arrange a new shoot date. If your arranged photoshoot is outdoors and the weather is too severe to perform the shoot on the day, I will contact you on the morning of the shoot to advise and rearrange on a day with more suitable weather conditions.

Where will the photoshoot take place ?

Short answer, anywhere you like! Long answer, being a lover of the outdoors and the light and variety it provides I would highly recommend outdoors every time, especially for the family/group shots. However if you are after something more intimate say for a newborn / baby shoot then there is no better place than the comfort of your own home. I am more than happy to recommend shoot locations best suited to the style of photographs you are looking for if required.

What have you put in place to manage Covid-19 ?

These are very unusual times at the moment and it is only natural to be concerned with what is happening with the Covid-19 pandemic. I would like to reassure all my potential clients that all of my photoshoots are performed in accordance with up to date Covid-19 government guidelines/regulations and I have all the right equipment in order to capture beautiful photographs from a distance and would always recommend an outdoor shoot where possible. This coupled with the appropriate PPE, high hygiene standards and hand sanitizing ensures that all clients and myself are kept safe at all times throughout the entire process.

I am concerned that myself or one of my children are not very photogenic?

This is a common concern as most people do not like their pictures taken, however the style of photography I prefer does not necessarily require the subject to sit still for an unnatural length of time, pose in a certain way and look at the camera. I feel that this can be quite uncomfortable, especially in front of someone you have just met and this can often lead to a very forced and unnatural looking photograph. I prefer to be as subtle as possible capturing beautiful candid photographs while offering some gentle guidance only where necessary to ensure a more relaxed experience, which I believe creates better photographs.

Do you have public liability insurance ?

Absolutely and for complete piece of mind all of my equipment is also fully insured just incase anything unfortunate should happen during your photoshoot, so rest assured that everything is fully covered.
